Receive the Spirit — Reflection for Pentecost Sunday

“Peace be with you,” “As the Father has sent me, so I send you,” “Receive the Holy Spirit” are three phrases that Jesus spoke to the disciples when they were hiding behind locked doors for fear of the Jews. Yet, Jesus appeared to them and spoke with them. Weeks later, the disciples along with Mary are once again in the upper room, but not in fear or hiding, but awaiting the Holy Spirit.
